Top 10 books of 2022: Ranking all the horror I read last year

Late coming but full of horror goodness, after careful deliberation, my top ten reads of last year are finally here!

Some surprises, even to me, and two different authors end up with two books in the top ten. Who are they? Find out!

Being the original women in horror month, this list is really fitting. Let me know what you think of these titles!

Featuring:

Darcy Coates, Catriona Ward, Matt Query and Harrison Query, Brom, Stephanie Sparks, Priscilla Bettis, Andre Bjerke, and Chuck Palahniuk.

Hi there! Today on Typical Books, we’re going to be talking about all the books I read in 2022. I know that this video is very late in coming, and 2022 ranked videos seemed to be what everyone was doing the first week of 2023. I had the video shot in January, and part of me wanted to just release that because I’ve been extremely busy. Obviously, it’s taken me until February to record the wrap-around and reaction.

My goal on Goodreads was to read 52 books, but I did not make it. I know a lot of people do hold themselves to that, and a lot of people blast past that. There have been a lot of people who I’ve actually commented on their Goodreads because I’m proud of them for reading so many books. However, I read quite a few books in 2022, but not 52 of them. Foolishly, for 2023, my goal is still fairly lofty. I read around 32 books. There are probably other books not in the running, but 32 books is pretty good. It’s not a book a week, but it’s pretty good.

Instead of using a normal tier ranking, this looks like the video I made last year. If you’re interested in ranking videos and just really like watching colored blocks float around a screen in the form of book covers, then you can check out my 2021 ranked video. But yeah, here we are with the 2022 ranking of all the horror books I read last year, all of the books that I read last year.

I talk scary books, extreme horror, classic, gothic, and everything in between. Helping you find the next best horror book to read is the goal, and sharing new and old horror from my #booktube shelves and new releases is how! Horror, nonfiction and even true crime can be found here as I find that human beings are the scariest thing of all.

✮ Thank you! ✮
