31 Days of Horror – October 8

Night-of-the-Demons-2Night of the Demons II (1994)

In preparation for a new Dead Air, I watched this series. Not the remakes however, as I’ll get to them someday but they were not readily available. Of the three, this is my least favourite. Afterward, I started Demons (1985) but didn’t quite finish it so will likely start that again over the next week or two, just because.

A definite re-watch but worth it every time. Along with this, A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night and Only Lovers Left Alive, I realized that most of the vampire films I’ve watched over the last several years have been art films. Dracula Untold is still on the list, but I’d rather see Vampyre (1932) first. Unlike most action-oriented vampire flicks, this movie leaves me a little sad thinking about what this life would be really like.

Otto: or, Up With Dead People (2008)

When Netflix was cool, this was on there. I guess someone clued in to the depravity contained in an otherwise very fun art film and it is sort of hard to find after that. It’s the only Bruce La Bruce film I’ve watched so far, and while not for everyone, an important X-rated zombie film nevertheless.
